Tell me more about the "Wings of Angels".

The "Wing of Angels" is a non-profit foundation that has as its main goal is to reach out to the community and raise funds to construct and maintain a permanent medical facility between Rocky Point & Sonoyta.

The reason for the facility is to provide urgent medical care for those in need in this rural area.  It seems obvious why this facility is needed, but it wasn't until a tragedy occurred that awareness was made to the need.

On September 5, 1999,  Kelsey Thomsen & 2 friends lay in the desert for nearly three hours without a critical medical care. All three ultimately lost their lives in part due to this lack of urgent care, thus leading to the awareness.  In losing their daughter, John & Judy Thomnsen were called to doing something to prevent other families for experiencing this same trauma.  As the developers of Laguna Shores, the Thomnsen uses their resources along with other friends in the business, to raise funds to build this facility.  We are eternally gratiful to the Thomnsen's for their efforts in establishing this facility and we're sorry it took an incident like this to bring it about.

The need for improvement in services, equipment & facilities is an ongoing process for this organization.  There are various way in which one can contribute to this needy cause.  There is a golf tournment held each year to raise funds or donations may be made directly to the Wings of Angels Board of advisors.
